
Membership in the Rocky Mountain Chapter
The Rocky Mountain Chapter offers membership on a calendar year basis. Membership renewals are recommended by March 1st. Dues received after October 1st will be applied to the next calendar year – with membership beginning the following January 1st.
- Membership in the national HFES organization is not required for Chapter membership.
- A Chapter member who is also a member of the national HFES organization will be considered “Full” member of the Chapter. If not a member of the national organization, the individual will be considered an “Associate” Chapter member. Dues are $20 per calendar year for either “Full” or “Associate” members.
- There is a “Special” category of membership available for students and those seeking employment. Dues are $10 per calendar year for “Special” members.
The benefits of chapter membership include:
- Access to the Members-only areas of the Chapter website (including job announcements and the member directory)
- Voting privileges
- Discounts on chapter workshops
- A free listing on the chapter "Resources" page (for consulting services, etc.)
How to Join the Chapter
To become a member of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of HFES, you may either submit your application electronically (preferred), or print your application and mail it with a check.
To submit this application electronically:
- Download and complete the Electronic Membership Application. It will save as a .doc file [Application_for_Membership_Yourname.doc]. Include your name in the file name when you save it to your computer.
- Click the “Pay Now” button below that corresponds to your type of dues (Regular = $20, Special = $10).

Note that your payment can be made with either (a) your own PayPal account or (b) any major credit card. If using a major credit card, just look for the heading, “Don't have a PayPal account?” in the lower left of the first payment page.
Continue to follow the PayPal instructions to complete your dues payment. You will receive a PayPal receipt by email.
Send your application and payment information to the RMHFES Membership Chair.
- Start with the email copy of your PayPal receipt.
- Initiate a "Forward" of that message...but don’t send it yet.
- Attach your completed membership form.
- Attach your resume if you’d like. (Don’t stress over this one – just use your last version, or create an informal list of recent work.)
- Email everything to the RMHFES Membership Chair (Janeen Sharma) at: membership@rmhfes.org
Alternatively, to submit your application by paper:
- Print a copy of the Membership Application Form.
- Complete the form by hand.
